Even sport stars get keratoconus.

Currently the big sports story in the US is the NBA championship playoff between Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors. One of the biggest stars on the court in Steph Curry. The three point king who, just recently revealed that he has keratoconus. He had noticed that his vision was blurry and that his ability to shoot accurately had reduced. He went and saw a Dr in the US and they confirmed he had keratoconus and fitted him with hard lenses. Since then his shooting accuracy is again up to the stellar heights that is expected from him.

Considering that the most widely accepted prevalence of keratoconus is 1 in 2000, it is no surprise that even mega sports stars can fall to this condition. Here at Boneham Optometrist we have been fitting hard lenses for keratoconus since the 1960’s when previous owner Penrhyn Thomas brought them to Sydney.
